Valerie Spina – Yoga Instructor

Yoga is an 8 limb lifestyle practice that combines the well-known physical postures with breath meditation and other practices. Valerie is committed to continuing studying and practicing yoga as a lifestyle. She believes yoga is for all ages and ability levels and is dedicated to encouraging people to experience the benefits of yoga no matter their physical or internal limitations.

Valerie has been interested in health and wellness since her teen years and first started practicing yoga to help with digestive issues. Having been trained as a ballerina she always believed in the therapeutic effect that movement has on the body, mind, and soul. She enjoys traveling and practicing/teaching yoga outdoors and on water (stand up paddleboard SUP yoga).

In a class, a student can expect a Vinyasa flow style that incorporates breath with movement and focuses on the journey into and out of poses while executing proper alignment. Valerie has experience teaching all age groups, from babies to seniors; and teaches a variety of class types as well as a private limitation or goal-focused practice. Valerie enjoys adding poses to suit specific needs or requests from students. She also incorporates other aspects of yoga such as breathing, meditation, philosophy, and various Ayurvedic applications; as well as Reiki, healing crystals and essential oils.
